Wanderlust Theatre kicks off its 2013-2014 season with the premiere of John Logan's Red.

Set in 1958, Red follows master abstract expressionist Mark Rothko as he battles his demons and feverishly attempts a definitive work - a tour de force that the New York Times calls an intense and exciting portrait of an angry and brilliant mind. Esteemed actor and artist Duncan Thistlethwaite portrays Mark Rothko with Brady McKellar as his assistant, Ken. Elsa Dimitriadis directs.

Red premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m., at Theatre 810, located at 810 Jefferson St. in downtown Lafayette. Showtimes are Oct.10-11, at 7:30 p.m. with an ArtWalk prelude on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m. and a matinee performance on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. Admission is $10.
