Bread & Circus Provisions pop-up deli at ArtWalk

by Kari Walker

An inventive snack bar takes over Genterie Supply Co. Saturday night

If you're headed to ArtWalk tomorrow evening,  check out the pop-up deil by Bread & Circus Provisions over at Genterie Supply Co. on Vermilion across from Parc Sans Souci. The menswear store will transform into a snack bar where hungry ArtWalk folk can stop in and grab a small bite to eat. Bread & Circus's concept revolves around artisian-made condiments, smoked meats, charcuterie and special sweet treats made by Chef Manny Augello and Abi Broussard.

Manny tells INDEats some of his menu items for the evening include the tasty Chop Block melt and a Porchetta and onion jam sammie - trust me, you will want to try this sandwich.

Left: Porchetta ready for some onion jam, Right: Chop block melt in progress

It's tender pork on a Ciabatta bun with sweet onions and fresh local sprouts. This same dish was part of a recent pop-up lunch event Bread & Circus hosted and  lunches sold out quickly because word travels fast when food tastes this good.

We also hear there's a pretty amazing mac and cheese waiting to be eaten along with a few other surprises.

Genterie
will also have complimentary Canebrake beer from Parish Brewing on hand for sipping while you snack and take in the sights of what's new for fall in the shop - try on a pair of shades from the New Orleans company, Krewe du Optic which are  my personal favorite from Genterie.
