The Fall 2013 season of Downtown Alive! continues to bring local music to the masses and on Friday, Oct. 18, Lafayette's going to be wowed by some incredible, home-grown talent in this dual-powered show.

La Recolte: The earlier generations of Cajuns planted the seeds that would generate an abundance of Cajun music and culture. They had to have the faith that it would nurture and grow. New generations continue to cultivate Cajun traditions because they "harvest" the "crop" of music and culture planted by generations of the past. They do so in an effort to carry on and replant the music and culture for future generations to also enjoy. So let's all continue to seek "La Recolte."

Rayo Brothers: The Rayo Brothers are a folk rock band from Lafayette. They play a roots mixture of bluegrass, folk, blues and outlaw country, drawing stylistic inspiration from the new generation of folk music - bands such as Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers and Crooked Still. The band formed in December 2011 when brothers Daniel and Jesse Reaux joined with Patrick Michot and Lance Kelehan to compete in Artmosphere's songwriter competition. They present a solid set of original songs as well as some covers ranging from traditional tunes to Dylan, Cash and Kanye West.

DTA! begins at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage concessions; musical performances from 6-8:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Concession sales help keep DTA! free, so please leave your ice chests at home with your pets.
