Festivals Acadiens et Creoles

Lafayette's annual two-day celebration of all things Cajun returns to Girard Park with the best art, food, music, and culture that Acadiana has to offer. This free festival begins Friday, Oct. 11, and runs through the weekend to Sunday, Oct. 13. Red, White & Roux Gumbo Cookoff

This weekend the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce presents the World Championship Gumbo Cook-Off, a premier three-day event in Iberia Parish that takes place on New Iberia's Main Street. The event kicks off on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. with great music and popular food items. On Saturday, Oct. 12, there are bands performing all day, downtown shopping deals, museum tours and more than 40 food booths cooking anything but gumbo for lunch. Sunday's full attention goes to the gumbo with more than 90 teams vying for bragging rights to the best gumbo in the world.

The Robert Cray Band

Fresh from performances with Peter Frampton's Guitar Circus and Eric Clapton's Crossroads, iconic blues artist and five-time Grammy winner Robert Cray returns to AcA with a new record release. The show begins on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Acadiana Center for the Arts, located at 101 W. Vermillion St., in downtown Lafayette. Tickets are $55, $65, $75.
