Festival International de Louisiane announced Tuesday evening that Missy Paschke-Wood has been name executive director. A native of Texas with a background in music and theater, Paschke-Wood most recently served as the marketing and development director at Yavapai Humane Society in Prescott, Ariz. as well as the marketing manager for a theater company. She has been living in Lafayette since earlier this year when her husband took a librarian/professor job at UL Lafayette.

"I am thrilled and honored to join the incredible team at Festival International," Paschke-Wood says in the release announcing her hire. "Like many people across the nation, I knew of the festival and it helped influence our family's decision to make Lafayette our home. My goal is to serve the festival by supporting our staff and board in every way that I can to make sure Festival International de Louisiane continues to be the premier Francophone festival in the United States if not the world."

Craig Minnick, FIL's board president, was equally effusive: "She is a seasoned professional who understands our organizational needs. Missy's previous civic involvement and her passion for the arts make her the ideal person to lead the Festival International organization. We are confident that she will enhance the growth of Festival International and advance the festival into the next generation as the premier international music festival."
