Do you love poboys? Do you love Olde Tyme? Do you love both so much you could eat five foot-long Old Tyme specials? If you answered yes, then step right up and test your appetite on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. It's the fifth year of the competitive poboy eating event and for $10, an entry could earn you bragging rights for the year and a few other special prizes.

Whoever can eat the most of five Olde Tyme specials in ten minutes or less will receive five party platters, a trophy and their name on a plaque hanging in the restaurant. In past years, competitors have been mostly men, but every now and then a brave woman throws her name into the hat. "It's usually some big guys and a few UL football players that enter. We have had people finish [all five poboys]," says Becca Murphree of Olde Tyme.

Will any ladies enter this year? Stop in Olde Tyme Grocery this Saturday to see for yourself and to cheer on the eaters.
