A whole bunch of Lafayette officials, performing arts lovers and cool townsfolk from the Hub City crashed Harlem's Apollo Theater in NYC last weekend for "Lafayette Night at the Apollo," the final performance of "James Brown: Get on the Good Foot."
Talk about representing Lafayette well! A whole bunch of Lafayette officials, performing arts lovers and cool townsfolk from the Hub City crashed Harlem's Apollo Theater in NYC last weekend for "Lafayette Night at the Apollo," the final performance of "James Brown: Get on the Good Foot," a dance tribute to the Godfather of Soul that was hatched in ... you guessed it ... Lafayette.
The official premier of "Get on the Good Foot" was at the Apollo, but our little secret is that it's actual world premier was Oct. 17 here at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
Last Saturday's Lafayette-centric gathering included a pre-performance reception with food from chef Pat Mould, beer from Bayou Teche Brewing and music by Nathan & The Zydeco Cha Chas. Talk about showing the Big Apple how to party! They sure made this Party Girl proud...
