Cool kids

Ageless style

There's a time and place for cutesy little rompers and rows of ruffles. But, sometimes the cutest kid style takes a cue from grown up style in a way that works. For little boys that means layers and a cool hat. On tweens it means pieces that are trending in color and shape without looking too grown up.

At Paper Doll Studio we love the t-shirt and plaid combo. For boys it's an easy look to pull off - dark jeans with a graphic T and a button down left open. Just add a sweet pair of Converse or a boot and you're good to go. And if you can get your kid to wear a hat, all the better.

For little gals it's a tougher task of balancing youth with style (just ask the mom of a 12-year-old girl). Start with color. A super trending color like mint makes everything a bit more cool without the worry of a shape that's appropriate. Accessories are another great way for girls to get a look you can both agree on from metallic belts and headbands to cool boots. We love the ensemble from Melodi's - a great go-to place for looks that mom and daughter can agree on.
