Seventh grade boys basketball team defeats St. Michael's Saints

The Fatima Warriors 7th grade boys basketball team defeated the St. Michael's Saints of Crowley in the recent Catholic league championship - the final score was 25-23.

Both teams put forward their best efforts, but it was Fatima's strong defensive efforts that helped the team fight to the finish. In the fourth quarter, the Saints were ahead by one point but the Warriors were able to tie the game with a free throw and then draw an offensive foul to regain possession of the ball to win the game with only six seconds remaining on the clock.

The championship victory for the Warriors was also the first loss of the season for the previously undefeated St. Michael's team - according to their coach, it was the team's first loss in three years. The Saints proved to be a challenging opponent, but in the end the Warriors were able to bring home the title to Lafayette.

Congratulations to both teams for your hard work this season and especially to the Warriors and coaching staff for dedication and determination.
