Krewe de Bayou's Red Hot Mardi Gras ball

by Kari Walker

A ball for all

The Krewe de Bayou and Townsquare Media hosted the Red Hot Mardi Gras ball on Valentine's Day over at The District on Johnston Street. What better way to celebrate the holiday of lovers and the Mardi Gras season than with ladies decked out in ball gowns, gents in festive tuxedos and red-hot-inspired costumes. This year's reigning royalty were King Cayenne I, Joey Durel, city-parish president and Queen Rouge I, Sharon Moss, owner of Moss Motors. King Joey and Queen Sharon greeted the crowd with Mardi Gras throws and a toast that celebrated the joie de vivre of the city of Lafayette and its continuing rise as a city to be reckoned with. After the toasts, the party continued on with the crowd dancing the night away to the sounds of 5th Avenue.
