Schools vie for GMC Terrain

Lafayette Parish schools are competing for a new set of wheels. In partnership with Lafayette Courtesy Buick GMC Lafayette Parish School System has launched TerrainGiveaway.com for the second year to award one school a prize worth more than $25,000.

The competition is based on funny and creative videos submitted by students and teachers about why their school deserves to win the 2014 GMC Terrain. Schools vying for the prize include: Acadiana High School, Carencro High School, Carencro Middle School, David Thibodaux STEM, Ernest Gallet, Green T. Lindon, Judice Middle School, Lafayette High School and Westside Elementary.

The public can vote once a day for their favorite video here. Voting ends April 7 and as of publish time Acadiana High and Green T. Lindon were just votes away from the top spot. Second and third place earn a scholarship donation.

"Our students and faculty have enjoyed producing the videos and we are so proud of the school spirit that is generated by such a project. The prize of the Terrain is definitely an incentive and we are appreciative of Courtesy GMC's support," said Angela Morrison, Director of Community Collaboration & Partnerships for LPSS.
