Party Girl

Party Girl

The new Zeus downtown opened this past Monday, and Party Girl has yet another great restaurant to add to her list of hot spots! In fact, the partying began before the restaurant even opened. Former KATC TV-3 weatherman and current Downtown Development Marketing Director David D'Aquin celebrated his 26th birthday Zeus-style. Two days before opening, Nidal Balbeisi opened his doors for a private party for David and a group of friends, who were treated to a preview of the restaurant's offerings. Plates of fried falafel, chicken, beef and haloumi cheese sandwiches were brought out from the kitchen and Zeus' traditional party music turned on in celebration. David's mom, Martha Day, and her husband, Tom, even brought a Doberge cake from Gambino's Bakery. With a glass of champagne in hand, Party Girl had a wonderful evening. Thanks for the hospitality Nidal and welcome to Jefferson Street!

From Greek food to Mexican food, Party Girl loves to sample it all. IberiaBank's Private Banking department recently hosted a social, welcoming new physicians at Hamilton Medical Group. Coyote Blues served up a menu of crawfish and duck empanadas, crab cakes, coconut shrimp and smoked salmon in the bank tower. A room filled with doctors and seafood, what was a girl to do? New doctors recognized included Dr. Elizabeth Lawrence and Dr. Brian Bailey, and Party Girl also ran into Pat Trahan, Dr. Francine Manuel, Dr. Gary Stevens, Pam LeBlanc and Dr. George and Sarah Fuller.

A trip to the Governor's Mansion is always a treat, especially when it's for a good cause. Abdalla's Debbey Ryan was invited for a visit with Gov. Kathleen Blanco on behalf of the Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women. Together the commission and governor plan to form a steering committee to reach women in our community and create a regional conference. "I think it's a wonderful opportunity for women leaders to be able to get a voice in government," Debbey says. "It's exciting to see a group of diverse women getting together." A Lafayette regional conference is planned for June at the Cajundome Convention Center. This girl will definitely be in attendance!
