Bach, DTA punctuate Downtown Friday

by Walter Pierce

It's the Zordico Stompers for lunch and Johanna Divine and the UL Big Band for supper.

Zordico Stompers

Popular spring concert series will be in full swing Friday as Bach Lunch and Downtown Alive! offer music fans a reason to head to the Central Business District.

The groove gets going at noon at Parc Sans Souci as the Zordico Stompers featuring former members of The Bluerunners takes the Bach Lunch stage. Boxed and bagged lunches provided by local restaurants go on sale at 11:15 on a first come-first served basis. The music is from noon to 1 p.m.

At 6 p.m. the inaugural concert of the Downtown Alive! spring 2014 series commences, also at Parc Sans Souci, as popular singer-songwriter Johanna Divine is joined on stage by the UL Big Band. Concession sales begin at 5:30.

Both concerts are free and food/beverage sales help keep them that way so please leave the ice chests at home. And pets. Leave them at home, too.
