The Lafayette Science Museum's newest exhibit celebrates T-Rex like never before.

Dinosaurs are all the rage this year: Jurassic Park 4 will be filming in New Orleans this summer, Henderson's Cajun Palm RV Resort will become home to a prehistoric-themed park and the Lafayette Science Museum is set to debut its exhibition, "Fossil Giants: Dinosaurs & Mammals," April 5.
As part of a highly anticipated partnership with the UL Lafayette's School of Geosciences, the Lafayette Science Museum will present a one-of-a-kind dinosaur fossil collection masterfully curated by UL; there will be three installments in all representing the Triassic and Jurassic, the Cretaceous and the Miocene periods.
"There is so much information and so many pieces to this collection that it will take three years to unfold the complete exhibition," says Kevin Krantz, museum director. "These fossil casts represent dinosaurs and mammals from every corner of the Earth. Our partner, UL Lafayette's School of Geosciences, is providing the expertise to transition this massive collection into an unforgettable exhibit."
The fossil casts are owned by DinoLab, and the exhibit is dedicated to the company's founders, pioneering paleontologists James and Sue Madsen. DinoLab has designed and built dinosaur exhibits for natural history museums worldwide.
UL Lafayette's extensive collection of rocks and minerals will also be on display for members and visitors.
