INDfamily honors Lafayette Parish School System's Students of the Year


Emily Street
Duson Elementary, fifth grade
Daughter of James and Nicole Street

Top honors at school:
Student of the Year, published in 2012 Young American Poetry Digest, academic Olympian (2012-13), honor roll and principal's list and school representative in Lafayette Parish fitness meet for four years

Favorite subjects:
Math and writing

Top community honors:
First place at Tremaine Dance with lyrical solo, numerous group placings with competition dance team and receiving numerous dance scholarships through dance conventions

Hobbies and interests:
Dancing and drawing

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Architect and/or dance teacher.

An accomplishment I'm most proud of:
Being myself and being a good friend to others.
