Easter eats and sweet treats

Egg-citing ideas for sharing at family gatherings

Easter gatherings are fast approaching and if your plans include the need pick up a treat or two to bring to a party, here are a few ideas to fill the table with whimsical treats.

Great Harvest Bread Company's Honey Bunnies are baked fresh from house-ground whole grain flour and shaped into festive bunnies that are almost too lovable to be edible - no worries, these bunnies were made for snacking, so feel free to carve out the middle and make a bread bowl for a dip and veggie platter.

Should your sweet tooth not have had its share of king cake pleasures during Mardi Gras, the Cajun Market Donut Company is baking Easter basket cakes decorated with spring colors, robin's eggs and Peeps.

And, it's not an Easter celebration without a chocolate bunny or two - there's no bunny better than one made locally from Lolli's Chocolates in the Oil Center. Load up on handmade bunnies, egg lollipops and chocolate covered pretzels and cookies, because that's what the Easter bunny would do.
