The Save Lake Peigneur advocacy group has released a short documentary detailing its fight against the Atlanta-based natural gas company AGL Resources over its plans to develop two salt dome storage caverns beneath the lake.

With the recent example of the Bayou Corne sinkhole in Assumption Parish, this documentary, called "The Salt of the Earth," is a timely look at the lack of oversight from the state Department of Natural Resources, and how Lake Peigneur very well could be the site of a similar situation if the project is allowed to move forward.
