As part of the GreenARMY's No Big Oil Bailout Tour, John Barry will address UL Lafayette students and faculty members at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The event, which will be held in Room 210 of Martin Hall, is part of the GreenARMY's effort to raise awareness on coastal land loss and an attempt to build pressure against legislation aimed at killing the New Orleans levee board's lawsuit against 97 oil and gas companies.

Barry, a renowned author, founder of Restore Louisiana Now and the mastermind behind the levee board's suit, will discuss a recent study by University of New Orleans Chancellor and economist Timothy Ryan on the positive impact coastal restoration would have on employment in Louisiana, which counters Big Oil's claim that making the industry pay for its fair share would drive jobs from the state.
