Armani Nicole, nee Larry, turns herself in
MAY 14 The transgender lady accused of killing someone through black market silicone injections has finally turned herself in to NOLA police, the Picayune reports here. One of her "patients" fell into a coma following her (alleged) home injections and died in January. Police have been looking for her since the coroner ruled the victim's death a homicide. This is the first case of its kind in Louisiana, the Pic reports.

La. guy says his biological dad was Zodiac
MAY 14 Here's a post on New York Magazine about a Louisiana man who has published a book claiming his biological father was the Zodiac killer. There's not a lot of detail here from the publisher, other than his dad got arrested a lot in the Bay Area, and he might resemble the "sketch" of the killer. His co-author, also from Louisiana, says the man didn't want to find this out. (But the check from that publisher probably helped, right?)

Grace: How will Bobby's rhetoric help him?
MAY 14 After digesting Gov. Jindal's speech at Liberty University, columnist Stephanie Grace says she's unsure how he thinks this course of rhetoric is going to help him later on. In particular, the anti-gay flavor might be a bad taste that lingers, she says, pointing out that many Republicans are "fretting that the perception of hostility toward gay people is killing the party's reputation among young voters." You don't say?

CB to Bobby: at least hire somebody smart
MAY 14 Blogger CB Forgotston read The Lens story about playing shell games with the IRS, and he's not happy. If Bobby Jindal can't be bothered to actually govern Louisiana, the least he could do is hire competent people to do it in his (frequent) absence, CB says.

Kissing-her wishy-washy on fall run
MAY 14 Vance McAllister said he didn't plan to run again this fall, but he might do it after all, the Town Talk reports here. McAllister, who got busted sucking face with a lady-not-his-wife on an as yet unexplained surveillance video, says he's been told maybe he rushed his decision. Hmmm.

MAY 14 Here's a Washington Times post about Mary Landrieu's latest campaign ad. This one features her dad, Moon Landrieu, and an exchange over who has the hardest head (too close to call). It's a campaign strategy aimed at reminding voters of Mary's tenacity, the post reports.

WaPo guest post from Capt. Obvious
MAY 14 Here's a Washington Post story about two recent polls in the Louisiana Senate race - and why they report such wildly different results. Well, it seems they talked to different people and asked them different questions. And apparently, who pays for the poll matters too. OK - Thanks for clearing that up!
