Social's Blackberry bourbon lemonade was one of June's Lessons in Libations featured drinks.

Social Southern Table and Bar's Eli Touchet knows a thing or two about making a cocktail - and thankfully his passion for the craft can shine during the return of the Lessons in Libations monthly series.

Lessons in Libations is an interactive event geared towards people who love cocktails and want to learn how to make some of Social's signature drinks at home. It's also the place for people who are looking for entertainment beyond a mundane night at the movies.

For $32 per person, you get two craft cocktails (that you will make as part of the lesson) and an appetizer - an added perk is keeping the leftover spirits and tools used in your crafting lesson.

This month's lesson was Social's blackberry bourbon lemonade and mint julep. Touchet started the lesson with a how-to on tying a bow-tie - a signature look donned by the Social staff. Guests mingled and talked food, drink and then were educated on the history of bourbon whiskey with a focus on the evening's featured brand, Old Forester.

Then, it was time for mixing and sipping the crafted drinks and discussing take away points for recreating the cocktails at home.

If you missed this month's event, catch up next month as Lessons in Libations is hosted the first Tuesday of every month. For more information contact Social at 456-3274 or visit the website.
