UL Athletics Director Scott Farmer

A day after announcing the results of an independent study showing UL's football program injected nearly $30 million into the local economy in 2013, an amount that will jump to almost $48 million when the stadium's capacity reaches 60,000, UL Director of Athletics Scott Farmer addressed a sold-out crowd of Ragin' Cajuns financial backers and fans at the Hilton Lafayette May 29.

The event was a first-ever collaborative effort between IND Media and its Lecture Series sponsor IberiaBank and UL's Ragin' Cajuns to celebrate the university's most winning season ever.

Farmer delivered an overview of the success of sports programs across the board, an update on the master plan for improving the university's facilities and stressed the importance of financial support to continue building the programs.

Football coach Mark Hudspeth fired up the crowd to close the event.

UL's successful run continues this weekend, as the No. 1 ranked Ragin' Cajuns baseball team hosts Ole Miss in the NCAA Super Regional Tournament at The Tigue. Play begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, with game two at 8 p.m. Sunday and, if necessary, game three at 6 p.m. Monday.

The game is sold out, but that doesn't mean you can't be in on the fun.

Multiple big screen viewing locations have been added outside of M.L. Tigue Moore Field for fans who do not have tickets to the games.

Three 80-inch big screen televisions will be located underneath the oak tree next to Gate A at Cajun Field and a 9-foot-by-12-foot portable video board will be parked on Reinhardt Drive, courtesy of sponsors that include Quality Companies (an ABiz Top 50 company), Industrial Oil Field Services and Audio Video Innovators.
