EatLafayette Dish of the Day: Bon Temps Grill's Cajun Jerk chicken

by Kari Walker

Jamaica meets Louisiana on Verot School Road

If a tropical vacation isn't in your summer plans, but you wish it was, then stop in Bon Temps Grill on Verot School Road and order the Cajun Jerk chicken for flavors of Louisiana with the influence of Jamaica.

The dish starts with mesquite grilled chicken cooked in a blackened seasoning and basted with mango puree and topped with shredded cheddar and mango salsa. An extra treat is the sage sweet potatoes and grilled veggies served along side the chicken. In the distance, we think we can hear steel drums with a Zydeco beat from an island somewhere.
