TIME MAG: BOBBY SPORTS BIG OLE SAINTS BUCKLE
JUL 18 Yeah, that's right. In between coyly (and disingenuously) claiming that he hasn't decided if he'll run for president, Bobby Jindal talked (in an alleged "thick Cajun drawl") about the GOP and where the party is headed at a corn pone event recently, TIME Magazine reports here. He apparently was wearing jeans and "an oversized Saints belt buckle" when they caught up with him.

WANT TO LEARN HOW TO FLY A DRONE?
JUL 18 If you want to learn how to fly drones (hey, you might want to see what your neighbor has on his barbecue pit, we don't know) you can learn at a class in NOLA next weekend. JUL 18 Former NOLA Mayor Ray Nagin, who now has a 10-year reservation at a federal facility, is going to find his time a lot harder to serve if he doesn't quit listening to his "supporters," columnist James Gill says in this post. Nagin isn't an innocent victim, and engaging in that denial is not going to make the time pass any faster, Gill says.

WHY ARE PROPERTY RATES INCREASING?
JUL 18 Did your homeowner's insurance go up? If you have State Farm it likely did, Jim Brown says in this week's blog. He's explaining how insurance increases work in Louisiana, and in other states, in this post.

DREHER'S UPSET WITH MARY - OF COURSE
JUL 18 Blogger Rod Dreher is miffed with Mary Landrieu, because the Democrat Senator voted in favor of a bill that would have ensured that female employees of a crafts store could still have insurance coverage for birth control. Dreher's interpretation? That she voted against religious liberty.
