State police have arrested a 42-year-old Kaplan man in the July 7 hit and run fatality crash that killed a bicyclist on Louisiana Highway 92 near Milton.

 

KAPLAN, La. (AP) - State police have arrested a 42-year-old Kaplan man in the July 7 hit and run fatality crash that killed a bicyclist on Louisiana Highway 92 near Milton.

Master Trooper Brooks David say Fitzpatrick F. Doucette, of Kaplan, was arrested Sunday night and booked with negligent homicide, felony hit and run and driving under suspension.

Troopers say a car struck the bicyclist, Lon Lomas, and that he fled the scene after the crash.

It was unclear whether Doucette has an attorney.
