Room to grow

by Amanda Bedgood

A children's room for all seasons

Crissy Greene knows a thing or two about design that lasts. The lady at the helm of Elle Design and Decor had the present and future in mind when she designed the room for her 2-year-old son Raphe. Proof that a child's room can be a balance of what works for kids for more than a few years.

"I really wanted to mix old wood and textures and to give him a room he could grow into," Greene says.

What resulted is the room for a toddler that has a kind of subtle childlike wonder and the bones of a bedroom that will last. Greene used vintage wooden whale and shark accents along with an urchin light fixture, antique wood beams on the ceiling and custom framed Bible verses behind the bed.
