EatLafayette Dish of the Day: Broaddus Burgers' Portabello mushroom burger

by Madeline Hurst

Hold the beef and build an epic burger with a wheat bun, avocado and sun-dried tomatoes.

Broaddus Burgers on Moss Street offers a wide variety of items on the menu that allow you to choose exactly what you want on a burger. What really makes Broaddus Burgers so different is there are options for those who don't always want beef on their burger.

The portobello burger at Broaddus Burgers is a fantastic vegetarian option.

The tuna burger starts with a fresh cut of tuna cooked medium rare and topped with tomato, avocado, grilled onions and lettuce all on a tasty ciabatta bun. Another great twist without beef is the Portobello Mushroom on a wheat bun with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onions, avocado and sun-dried tomatoes.

The Spicy Broaddus is loaded with flavor and a fried egg.

For a more traditional burger, try the Spicy Broaddus - spicy meat with lettuce, grilled onions, pickles, pepper jack cheese, mayo, mustard, ketchup and topped with a fried egg on a white bun.
