REALITY 'STAR' BOOKED ON MOLESTATION CHARGES
AUG 12 A guy featured on the "Sons of Guns" program on Discovery was arrested for child molestation charges, this post on the Advocate tells us. He claims it is retaliation for a bad break-up.

ASWELL: FOR JINDAL, MISTRESS BAD, HOOKER OK?
AUG 12 Blogger Tom Aswell is calling Bobby Jindal a hypocrite in this post, but not for the usual reasons. He's calling the governor on the carpet for taking a swipe at Vance McAllister for kissing a lady not his wife on an as-yet-unexplained surveillance video, and refraining from making any comment on the fact that David Vitter's name and digits showed up in a DC Madam's little black book. But that ain't all -- he's spilling the beans about Sam Hanna Jr., the guy who first published that video. Wups!

RAPE VICTIM SPEAKS OUT TO EXPOSE NOLA PROBLEMS
AUG 12 This is a scary story from WWL. A New Orleans woman approached the station, asking to share her story of being drugged and raped last month, because she wants to expose the problems in the NOLA police department. And apparently the problems are legion. Clearly, this is a strong woman with support and resources. One shudders to think what happens to rape victims who are not.

AUG 12 Here's a (hilarious) post on LaPolitics by Jeremy Alford about a bill passed by Elbert Guillory during the last session. The legislation addresses a grandfather clause that really is for grandfathers (and mothers) because it allows Constables and Justices of the Peace to run past 70. The clause was removed by Guillory's bill - but how it passed, and why Guillory wrote it, is up for debate. And it's a helluva debate, really.

AUG 12 Here's a post on the CBN website that covers a recent interview Bobby Jindal had with the Christian Broadcasting Network. There are video clips as well, if you'd like to hear Bobby talk about how he got the name Bobby, what he thinks about Common Core, and how he talks to Jesus about whether he should run for President.

DUCK PEOPLE AT THE IOWA STATE FAIR
AUG 12 This post in the Des Moines paper features the reporter's take on a "performance" at the Iowa State Fair by some of the people on the Duck Dynasty program. Apparently, they went up there to sing. (Not kidding.) It sounds a little bizarre, and the reporter said the second half of the show, a question and answer session, was much more interesting than the "musical" portion.

RED SHTIK ON MOON PIES AND POWER
AUG 12 Baton Rouge's answer to the Onion gives its take on the Baker Councilman who "stole" a Moon Pie and the chief of the LSU Alumni Association's peccadillos in this post. It's funny - but be warned. If you are easily offended by dirty words and dirty discussions, don't go clicking on this one.

AUG 12 Blogger CB Forgotston thinks he understands what is going on with the inaction on the board that oversees State Troopers' pensions. The board won't take steps to see if a last-minute bill that added $55K to a top cop's retirement is legal or not and the reason why is simple, he says: It's greed.
