Red Arrow and Parish Ink in the Big Easy

by Amanda Bedgood

Local stores open second location

The Red Arrow is pointing to the big easy. Sister store Parish Ink will join the River Ranch store in a new location on the corner of Magazine and Austerlitz Streets.

"Red Arrow will continue to offer a curated selection of products that emphasize clean, modern designs, and we will continue to work with many local makers who fit our vision and aesthetic for the shop," according to Red Arrow owners. "We will also be crafting and curating a limited selection of items catered toward the New Orleans market. As for Parish Ink, we definitely want to stick to our Cajun roots, since that's the thing that sets us apart (and there are so many Cajuns living in New Orleans), and that's who we are, though we are working on a few New Orleans-specific designs."

The New Orleans location will be at 3926 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115. Each shop will have their own space, cash wrap and employees, and the large space will be divided with a central wall, so each side will have its own look and feel.

The idea for the second location came over the course of several years after years attending Bayou Boogaloo festival in on Bayou St. John in New Orleans.

"We always look forward to our visits to New Orleans, and are thrilled to have the opportunity to invest in that community as we grow our businesses," the owners said. "It's a very special place with an energy all its own, and we're so excited about becoming a small part of it. "

Work has already begun on the shops there, and they are looking at an early September opening, although no firm date has been established.
