EatLafayette Dish of the Day: Dax on Verot's burger and onion rings

Dax on Verot is a great place to put on your list of favorite stops for seafood, barbecue and poboys. What started small soon became a local favorite and therefore moved to a bigger location a short way down the road. The menu offers a variety of home cooking that won't leave you disappointed.

The Dax burger and onion rings

The Dax Burger is a popular choice - starting with a juicy hamburger dressed with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on a sweet, buttery bun. The homemade onion rings make a great side with this burger.

The chef salad has also been a favorite this summer - a large helping of iceberg and romaine lettuce topped with tomatoes, boiled eggs, purple onion, ham, turkey and cheese. If you want more of a home-cooked taste, Dax offers a daily plate lunch special.
