Early voting for the runoff is shortened by two days because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Early voting for the Saturday, Dec. 6 runoff election begins this Saturday, Nov. 22, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 29 - except for Sunday, Thursday (Thanksgiving) and Friday - at parish registrar of voters offices between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

As Secretary of State Tom Schedler notes in a press release, early voting for the runoff is shortened by two days because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All voters in Lafayette Parish will be able to decide on the Senate runoff between incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu and Republican Bill Cassidy as well as whether to approve a one-cent, eight-month sales tax to help fund construction of a new terminal at Lafayette Regional Airport.

Voters within the city of Lafayette will chose between runoff candidates Kip Judice and Brian Pope in the City Marshal's race, while voters in the Scott area will make selections in runoffs for Lafayette Parish School Board, city council and district judge. A tax proposal will also be on the ballot for some voters in Carencro, while some Youngsville voters will select in a runoff for city council.
