Laugh with both lungs

Hub City funnyman Ricky Briggs chuckles in the face of danger.

Hub City funnyman Ricky Briggs laughs in the face of danger. A lifelong cystic fibrosis patient — most sufferers of the genetic disorder that mainly affects the lungs don’t live beyond their teen years — the standup comic/actor/motivational speaker underwent a double lung transplant last spring in Houston, and boy does he have stories to tell!

Briggs and fellow comedian Joesph Lymous will bring their unique shtick — a blend of storytelling, one-liners and more touching on topics from marriage, childbirth, death and, of course, lung transplants — to the Acadiana Center for Arts’ Moncus Theater for a three-night stand Thursday, Dec. 11 through Saturday the 13th.

"Surviiive: Hilarious Tales of Serious Situations" will also feature Billy Toler and David Ogle as special guests; music will be provided by Chance Briant.

The performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for students and $15 general admission.
