A Reeves campaign email says Jindal was appearing at Reeves’ fundraiser Thursday evening at a home in Gulfport, with ticket prices ranging from $250 to $2,500.

The Advocate reports that Jindal was returning to Baton Rouge after the event.

Reeves was elected to two terms as state treasurer before winning the 2011 race for lieutenant governor. In the job, he presides over the 52-member Mississippi Senate.

The 40-year-old Reeves recently said he wants Mississippi to ditch Common Core because he believes the academic standards have been “hijacked by the Obama administration.” Jindal filed a federal lawsuit accusing the administration of coercing states to adopt the standards.
