Tap dancing

Parish Brewing and Saint Street Inn are teaming up for a two-night, one-of-a-kind tap takeover and beer dinner this weekend, Dec. 26 and 27.

The beer will include Parish staples such as Canebrake and South Coast Amber Ale, as well as limited edition kegs of the brewery’s specialty offerings Imperial Reserve stout, Grand Reserve and Ghost in the Machine. It will be the local brewery’s first beer dinner and one in which they take over all six of Saint Street Inn’s draught beer taps.

SSI Chef Kelsey Leger has prepared a six-course prix fixe menu ($65) with beer pairings for the event (dishes and beers will also be sold a la carte). Whole duck pot roast, paired with Parish’s Grand Reserve barley wine, a Welsh rarebit with South Coast amber ale, caramel candy apple and local pecans with Imperial reserve stout, are a few of the creative menu combinations being featured. The beer will be offered in 5 oz. snifter glass pours as well as full pints.

Saint Street Inn is located at 407 Brook Avenue. Call (337) 534-8112 to make reservations.
