BOBBY'S BUD ATTACKS THOSE DEMONIC GAYS
JAN 28 Huffington Post reports here about a recent speech by Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, the sponsor of Bobby Jindal's prayerpolooza which happened this past weekend at LSU. Among his comments? Fischer says that the "gay agenda" is fueled by "demonic energy." (He also defends Bobby. Oh, good.) Hey, here's an idea: Bryan is obviously obsessed with (and tempted by?) the gay. Maybe he should just get himself a boyfriend and leave the rest of us out of it.

JAN 28 Columnist Jeremy Alford gives us the skinny on what he predicts will be a battle royal over the budget in the legislature this spring. Maneuvers and one-up-manship will abound, Jeremy says. But hey, isn't this all just a bunch of guys trying to make sure they don't get held responsible for years of monumental screw ups, deliberate destruction of public assets and (borderline) criminal lack of action? This isn't a game - can we quit pretending like it is?

BEAST: JINDAL HAVING A LOVE AFFAIR WITH HATE
JAN 28 This post on the Daily Beast goes over some of the lunacy that has come out of the American Family Association, and muses upon Bobby Jindal's desire to court such a group. Is he pandering? Desperate? Or does he really agree with this vitriolic nonsense?

CAN THESE GUYS PLEASE STOP MAKING US LOOK LIKE MORONS?
JAN 28 Where would we be without our elected officials? At the top of a good list for a change, maybe? This post on Wonkette takes aim at one of our Congressmen, John Fleming, who although he is a physician apparently can't read. Wonkette says Fleming has announced that studies show marijuana is a gateway drug to other drugs, when the studies actually show that it's only a gateway to the munchies.

JAN 28 This update on the plan to burn tons of military explosives at the old Camp Minden is from KSLA. The EPA and the US Army are in charge of the plan, but aren't talking about details or any research done to ensure such a plan is safe. Environmental groups and state officials are doing their best to get some political mileage out of the situation, clearly - but who's taking care of the people who live there?

A NEW PARISH ON THE WEST BANK?
JAN 28 Columnist Clancy DuBos writes here about a plan to carve a new parish out of the West Bank in New Orleans. The plan, spearheaded by a term-limited legislator, would cut the West Bank area out of Orleans and Jefferson parishes and cobble it together into its own parish. Interesting.
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
What's the root of all America's problems? Could it be - Gay Satan? One guy with the AFA thinks so. Also today, Alford predicts a budget war, and the Daily Beast writes about Bobby Jindal's "love affair with hate." Happy Hump Day y'all!
