On the Move: David Mann

Former automobile dealer named executive director of the I-49 South Coalition

David Mann

David Mann was named executive director of the I-49 South Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to completing Interstate 49 South through public awareness, advocacy, education policy and by seeking out federal and state funding.

Mann, who graduated from LSU, most recently was fleet director at Knight Oil Tools. He is a past board member of the Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association and a past president of the Lafayette Automobile Dealers Association. He is currently a board member of The Campaign for One Acadiana and serves on the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He has 25 years of experience owning and running several automobile dealerships in the Acadiana area.

The I-49 South Coalition was formed two years ago by Sen. Brett Allain of St. Mary Parish. The coalition has refocused its efforts on the getting the public and state and federal officials involved and dedicated to the funding and completion of Interstate 49 South. The 160-mile interstate highway will stretch from the I-10/I-49 North junction in Lafayette to the Westbank Expressway in New Orleans.
