Former Congressman Rodney Alexander
Former Congressman Rodney Alexander has a new gig.

The Picard Group announced Tuesday afternoon that the three-term congressman, who also briefly served in Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration as secretary of Veterans Affairs, will head up the Lafayette-based lobbying firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Alexander, 68, will be working as a lobbyist in a Congress where from 2003 to 2013 he served committees that included House Appropriations, Agriculture, Rural Development and Financial Services. Prior to his nearly three terms in Congress Alexander also represented a north Louisiana district in the state House of Representatives from 1988 to 2002.

“Rodney Alexander is one of the most experienced and well-liked members of Congress,” says Picard Group founder Tyron Picard in a press release announcing Alexander’s hire. “He has a long history of bringing people together, reaching across the aisle and getting things done. We are extremely proud to have him join our organization.”
