CB TO BOBBY: STAY IN IOWA LONGER, WE'RE SAFER THAT WAY
FEB 26 Blogger CB Forgotston is ruminating over recent stories in the Advocate detailing the many (many, many) days per year that Bobby Jindal spends somewhere other than the state he's paid to govern. To consider the conundrum, CB takes a look at some of the "work" Bobby has done while he's been here -- and opines that possibly we're better off when he's gallivanting in Iowa and not conducting ALEC experiments on us.

NOTHING WEIRD ABOUT BEING WEIRD
FEB 26 Blogger Ian McGibboney discusses one of the most moving speeches from Sunday's Academy Awards - the screenwriter who won a statue for "The Imitation Game." The man recounted considering suicide as a teen, and implored all "weird" kids to stick around, because, as they say, it really does get better. For Ian, being "weird" or "different" is good, not bad. Hear, hear!

DREHER ON THE SEMANTICS OF TERRORISTS
FEB 26 Here's an interesting piece by blogger Rod Dreher about the current state of affairs in American politics in which conservatives are obsessed with whether or not President Obama will refer to psychotic serial killers as representatives of Islam or not. It's fascinating and full of opinions which, although not variegated, are revealing nonetheless.

FEB 26 To add to the stress of Bobby Jindal's already Sisyphus-like Presidential campaign, this post on the Advocate's politics blog reports that a recent GOP poll didn't find Bobby was running 12th in a 10-man race -- he wasn't polling at all. Noticeably (for us and Bobby, anyway) absent from the poll's findings is any mention of our Governor.

POLITICS AND INTRIGUE OVER IN LIVINGSTON PARISH
FEB 26 This post on Louisiana Voice brings us up to date on the investigation into the alleged malfeasance of a contractor hired to assist in post-hurricane clean-up over in Livingston Parish following Hurricane Gustav. It's pretty entertaining.

PIC: BOBBY'S A KETTLE CALLING THE POT BLACK
FEB 26 On the heels of Bobby Jindal's attempt to get on the TV press conference criticizing President Obama's leadership, the Picayune posts this editorial questioning Jindal's lack of it. This is one more "desperate" attempt on Jindal's part to save a non-starter Presidential campaign, the Editorial Board opines. But more importantly, while he's carrying on this pathetic grasping for attention, there are real, serious issues in Louisiana that need addressing - and he's still supposed to be running this state, the board says.
Thursday's Blogs from the Bog!
CB thinks we're probably better off if Bobby spends ALL his time in Iowa. Also today in La La Land, Ian expounds on the benefits of weirdness and Dreher's looking at the semantics of terrorism.
