Rodizio's arrives

by Amanda Bedgood

Brazilian grill lovers can rejoice — Rodizio Grill is slated for Lafayette by summertime in the Whole Foods shopping center on Ambassador Caffery.

Construction began three weeks ago on the location — the first in the state for a national franchise with 17 locations in the country. For an idea of the vibe think Texas de Brazil with a hybrid of salad bar plus service from roving wait staff with various roasted meat choices that arrive at the table throughout the meal.

"The market is good in Lafayette," says new owner Lian Leitang of his choice to spearhead a franchise in Lafayette.

Leitang owns Buffet City on Ambassador along with Tokyo located on the corner of Ambassador and Johnston. He says Rodizio could provide around 40 jobs.

The menu includes a hefty dose of gluten free items and the restaurant is touted as being "100 percent MSG free, 100 percent peanut free and 95 percent gluten free."
