Launch of Bach Lunch delayed a week

Up next: The Band Courtbouillon on Friday, March 13

For those looking forward to this Friday’s launch of the spring season of Bach Lunch — now in its 27th year — we have some bad news: it’ll be at least another week of waiting, weather permitting.

According to a press release issued Wednesday morning, the spring launch of Bach Lunch featuring the music of Les Freres Michot on Friday, March 6, won’t be happening. The lunchtime event, according to the release from the Lafayette Science Museum, has been cancelled “due to the expected cold temperatures.”

On the bright side, it’ll only be another week of waiting before Bach Lunch gets going, with The Band Courtbouillon — the Grammy-winning Cajun trio featuring Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Wilson Savoy — providing the music and O’Charley’s Restaurant, Poupart’s Bakery and Teak’s Sports Bar & Grill serving up the food starting at 11:15 a.m. next Friday, March 13.

Bach Lunch is a biannual fundraiser for the Lafayette Science Museum. The concert series is free and attendees are encouraged to buy box lunches provided by local restaurants. The music begins at noon and goes until 1 p.m.; concert-goers are encouraged to arrive early for lunch as supplies are limited.
