Atchafalaya Basinkeeper honors local volunteers

Atchafalaya Basinkeeper will present awards to its long-time volunteers at a ceremony this Sunday at Artmosphere.

The Atchafalaya Basin

The Atchafalaya Basinkeeper will hold a joint meeting of the ABK Boards of Directors and Trustees, the Louisiana Crawfish Producers Association—West Board of Directors, and other Basin VIPs this Sunday.

During the meeting, they will hold an awards and recognition ceremony, which will be followed by a short presentation and then music by the Delta Drifters, dancing, and mingling. St. Martin Parish President Guy Cormier, Henderson Mayor Sherbin Colette, and author/photographer Greg Guirard will also be speaking at the event.

Last year’s recipients included SouthWings, which is a non-profit conservation organization that provides a network of volunteer pilots to advocate for the restoration and protection of the ecosystems and biodiversity of the Southeast through flight, as well as the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic.
