Cedar Crest, a personal memory living facility, has opened at 161 South Beadle Road in Lafayette and is accepting its first residents.

The facility was conceived and built exclusively for people battling Alzheimer’s and other memory-related illnesses. The idea is the brainchild of brothers Mo and Nicol Hannie, who watched their father die from the disease.

Mo Hannie, Cedar Crest partner and developer, said in a prepared release that the facility is “a dream come true for me and my family and is a legacy for my father, who died from Alzheimer’s. Memory illnesses are cruel for those who suffer from them and for their families. We built Cedar Crest to be part of the solution for caring for these seniors.”
