I've always been pale. And not the pretty Nicole Kidman kind. I love that kind. But, I love beautiful bronzed skin. Enter self tanner.

If I'm being honest it was probably vanity and not true health concerns that led me into the world of self tanner. Either way, I'm out on sun damage, skin cancer concerns and the never ending appearance of freckles. Today, I'll give you the basics on getting bronze in no time without looking orange or streaky.

1 — Exfoliate. You don't have to remove layers of skin or spend tons of time. A nice sugar scrub or your favorite body wash on a wash cloth is good enough.

2 — Apply Fake Bake Flawless at night. Let dry (it goes on quickly with a mitt and isn't greasy). Go to bed.

3 — Shower and voila. You are tan.

After trying a variety of sunless tanners, for the price and the results Fake Bake Flawless is my favorite (if you have time to do it the night before an event.) It probably lasts five good days depending on your bathing habits.

For a super tan I like to do Fake Bake one night and then Body Drench the next. You'll have about a week of lovely bronze skin without paying the price of sun damage. Body Drench is a beautiful brownish-pinky color and looks awesome when applied. Nothing orange about it. You can spray in the morning and let it develop all day.

Tan on!
