NYT ON THE SEARCH FOR AMEDE ARDOIN
MAY 29 Here's a cool story from the New York Times on Amede Ardoin, his tragic story and the search for his grave. If you've never heard of Ardoin, you should read this. But even if you have, this is a fascinating version: Creoles and Cajuns, music and a lady's handkerchief.

MAY 29 Gambit puts together a (hilarious? pathetic?) collection of reaction to Andy Borowitz's (satire, SATIRE PEOPLE) post on the New Yorker recently. Like the Red Shtick's similar (satire, SATIRE PEOPLE) post about Bobby Jindal saying poor people need to take better care of themselves, Borowitz's joke that Bobby was breaking off trade relations with Ireland following a "we don't hate gay people" vote kinda went viral. What does it say about our governor that it is so easy to believe this really bad stuff about him?

MORE FROM ELLIOTT ON THE BRBR SNAFU
MAY 29 Elliott Stonecipher offers his recounting of the "kerfuffle," as he terms it, that occurred when the Baton Rouge Business Report posted a story (that at best was poorly written and edited) about a speech he gave. Stonecipher says he can't explain why the writer got everything he said completely wrong, but he's not given up on figuring that out.
Friday's Blogs from the Bog!
The New York Times has a story about Amede Ardoin, and it's a good one. Also today, Elliott speaks of the "kerfuffle" and why can't Americans understand satire?
