ZOMBIE ON JINDAL'S SHIP OF FOOLS
JUNE 1 This post on Dirty Coast by Jason Brad Berry (who blogs as The American Zombie) is about Bobby Jindal's "I hate gay people as long as it makes crazy people vote for me" executive order, the Louisiana Family Forum, and Gene Mills. He's also got a link in here for his recall petition for Jindal which, although it won't have any "real" effect, could let the rest of the country see that we're not all pandering bigots.

CRAWFISH ON THE IMPROPER USE OF SPED DOLLARS
JUNE 1 This post by blogger Crazy Crawfish is a long one, but worth the read. It lays out, with links to evidence, Crawfish's theory about how the state Department of Education is improperly using dollars earmarked for special education. The effort started with Superintendent John White cleansing the department of any personnel qualified in the subject - which is a common procedure by education "reformers" who are really trying to dismantle public education.

LOST CIVILIZATION FOUND IN LAKEVIEW POTHOLE
JUNE 1 Here's a funny one from Neutral Ground News, a satire website dedicated to news from New Orleans, about a lost world found in a Lakeview pothole. It's traced back to an unfortunate family who were on their way to the World Fair in 1984.

ASWELL'S NOT IMPRESSED WITH IG'S SLAP ON THE WRIST
JUNE 1 Blogger Tom Aswell has reviewed the scolding given Gov. Bobby Jindal by our state's Inspector General over Bobby's use of the Governor's office to attack his soon-to-be-opponent, Rand Paul. And, he's not impressed. Bobby's defense has been that he's concerned about national security because it affects Louisiana. Well that's surprising - because his actions over the past couple (three, four, OK, seven) years would indicate he can't even find us on a map.

GRACE IN SPECTATOR ON THE BOBBY-GROVER BROMANCE
JUNE 1 This post on the Washington Spectator is penned by Advocate columnist Stephanie Grace. In it, she's telling (to a national audience) the story Bobby Jindal probably wishes she'd shut up about. It's not just Louisiana Democrats who think Bobby's flubbed his job as governor and has sold us down the river to Grover Norquist, it's Republicans, too, she writes. There's also an interesting comment from Jindal's arch rival, David Vitter, about something he'll do "as soon as I'm sworn in" as governor. Huh.

DESHOTELS ON THE FLIP BESE PAGE
JUNE 1 Blogger Mike Deshotels endorses the efforts of some education reformers who are aiming to remove BESE members who have received huge donations from sources that support the dismantling of public education. It's called 'Flip BESE' and it has endorsed several candidates (so far) for the elections this fall. It also regularly posts interesting information about incumbents.

BOB'S FORMAL REQUEST FOR AN INVESTIGATION
JUNE 1 Blogger Bob Mann posts the text of his formal request to our Secretary of State to investigate Bobby Jindal's issuance of a press release to attack his future political opponent, Rand Paul. If you're wondering why the SOS, Bob's asking for an investigation by the office's Election Compliance Unit. There's a reason for that. If you're wondering why a blogger/university professor has to ask state law enforcement to do their jobs -- there's a reason for that, too.
Monday's Blogs from the Bog!
Zombie's blogging about Bobby and the LFF - and a recall petition. Aswell's not impressed, Mann's calling for a real investigation and Crawfish has a story about the state DOE robbing special ed kids.
