The boho vibe just won’t die. And I’m not mad about it. If ever there comes a day wearing a kimono isn’t cool, I don’t want to know. And so, we headed to the Feed & Seed Downtown for a rocking variation of the bohemian vibe.

On my hunt for the ’70s laid-back look I found highwaisted denim and flares to die for, fringe in a variety of places, beautiful tassel necklaces and a hat I’m tempted to keep and wear all summer long from Hemline.

While the more fashionforward pieces are what catch this INDStyle editor’s eye, they can each be worn in ways that are far more low key if you’re not likely taking the stage any time soon.

The daisy bells from Brother’s on the Blvd. can go with a swingy long tank top while the flare jeans from Shoe La La are perfect with peasant tops. The reptile print dress from Vanessa V. could go from office with a little blazer to drinks with the girls. The merlot jeans for him from Maven Menswear look sharp with a simple solid T-shirt while shredded denim for her from Hemline will work year round with everything from silky tanks to slouchy sweaters come fall.

Shoes are evolving in the best retro way possible with cool wooden heels, clog shapes and wedges featuring worn leather straps. We found a slew of them at Shoe La La and fell in love with the metallic fl ats from Vertage.

We planned for a hot day at the Feed & Seed with our effortlessly cool models. Behind the scenes there were laughs between Brandon Barrett’s smoldering stare and natural beauties Angela August and Laura Hebert. Photographer Robin May was in her element in a music venue amid ’70s cool pieces. And the venue’s own Collin Galyean even served as our extra.
