The Evangeline Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has named Pat Trahan its 2015 Lafayette Parish Distinguished Citizen. The longtime local banker will honored Friday, June 5, at a luncheon at the Cajundome Convention Center Festival Ballroom.
Trahan is a graduate of UL Lafayette with a degree in business management.
The Distinguished Citizen Award was established in 1982 by the Evangeline Area Council, Boy Scouts of America to honor and recognize community leaders who exemplify the qualities found in the Scout Oath and Law. Thirty six people have received this prestigious award over the last 33 years.
“[Trahan's] induction into this group was an easy decision for the selection committee,” says Art Hawkins, executive director of the Evangeline Area Council. “His involvement in the community is vast and diverse, spanning Acadiana and encompassing many of our area’s community issues. Patrick is a leader, visionary and consensus builder. Steadfast in his faith, his life is dedicated to serving the community and its people.”
