"I'm planning my outfits for the Origami Owl Convention in Chicago next month. On the Friday, we have to wear team T-shirts. I am not really a T-shirt person, unless I'm in yoga pants and I really don't want to wear jeans. What are some other ways to sort of dress up a light pink T-shirt?" - Sunni

Dearest Sunni,

I am with you! I don't do traditional T-shirts and I don't do jeans often. I find both (believe it or not) not so comfy. A few weeks ago there were two days I needed to wear a lime green T-shirt for VBS as one of the volunteers. My suggestion — try a printed pant.

Shown in the pic on the left is my ensemble for T-shirt Day — blue tie-dye pants, gold Havianas and a straw fedora. Try a contrasting color like purple palazzos or mint green in a geometric print. I'm loving these pants from Vanessa V. with just a hint of pink in the print. I tuck in just the front portion of the T-shirt for a more figure-flattering option.

If structured pants are more your speed I love a graphic black and white print with pink or this fresh navy take on cropped pants. These flattering printed pants from Brother's on the Blvd. could work with a neutral metallic or black low wedge sandal or even slip on black espadrilles that are super popular this season.

There's also the option for the upscale joggers that are everywhere. An army green silky pair are lovely when paired with pink or even a chambray can be your version of jeans dressed up.
