WAPO JUST CALLED JINDAL A LIAR!
JUL 14 This story in the Washington Post takes a look at Bobby Jindal's "nonsense on a stick" plan to charge a fee, give a tax cut, whatever the heck that bogus college tax thing was. The headline calls it "false," and it's all downhill from there, to a three Pinocchio classification. Wups!

DEBERRY: DON'T TRASH THOSE STATUES
JUL 15 Columnist Jarvis DeBerry writes here about the discussion ongoing in NOLA about the most prominent Confederate tribute statues in the city. The Mayor and others want them down, and DeBerry agrees, but he doesn't think the statues should be warehoused. Instead, they need to be placed where they can be discussed, or enjoyed by those who love them, he says. Slavery and the Civil War are not topics we can erase, he adds.

JUL 15 Columnist James Gill writes here about the (unbelievable) comments made by some members of our state Supreme Court, casting aspersions on their superiors in the U.S. Supreme Court who had the audacity to rule that gay Americans have rights like any other Americans. Spoiler alert: Gill ain't a fan.

JUL 14 The New York Times posts this column from Bloomberg about the walking contradiction that Bobby Jindal is - and the national press seems to love to analyze. Just a few years ago, Bobby was promise itself, and now he's a joke of an also-ran, a pandering, desperate, grasping politician. It's easily explainable, Al Hunt writes here, with one word: Ambition.

Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
WaPo says Bobby's pulling a Pinocchio. Also today, commentary from Zombie and Jarvis on the monumental discussion in NOLA, and Gill doesn't think much of the supremes.
