Neighborhood threatens lawsuit over Greyhound

North side residents are up in arms and threatening suit over a controversial 2007 re-zoning that allows Greyhound to move its bus station into a residential area on the corner of Moss and Mattheiu Streets. Greyhound had planned to renovate and move into the new facility this year. The situation has city officials renewing their efforts to try and get Greyhound to locate in the yet-to-be-completed downtown Rosa Parks Transportation Center. City officials are meeting this week to hammer out details on a proposal for Greyhound. The Rosa Parks Transportation Center was originally conceived with Greyhound in mind (as well as housing city-parish government’s Traffic and Transportation Division and a U.S. Post Office) but the company backed out in 2005 amidst financial concerns.
