WONKETTE PROMOTES BOBBY TO GENERAL
AUG 19 Wonkette takes aim at Bobby Jindal again, this time for his pandering to standing up for the pinheads who say the Confederate statues in NOLA are their heritage. (If one of them can name anything Beauregard did, it would be a miracle. But we digress.) The good news is, Bobby does get something out of it - Wonkette has promoted him to general!

AUG 19 Not long ago, we were reading about an acting District Attorney up in Caddo Parish who feels his raison d'etre is to kill people in the name of vengeance. (Well, mostly black people, but that's another story). In any event, here's another story out of Caddo, in the Shreveport Times, which tells of a recent study that shows systematic exclusion of black people from juries in the parish. Wow, really? What a surprise.

MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL: WHO'S THE BIGGEST ANCHOR BABY OF THEM ALL?
AUG 19 Bobby Jindal jumped on Donald Trump's "I'm the biggest asshat in the clown car" bandwagon Tuesday, the Picayune reports here. But it's even weirder than usual - because Bobby's saying Trump is right about ending "birthright citizenship." That's when a baby born in America is granted citizenship, regardless of his parent's immigration status. You know - like if a baby was born here to Indian parents who came to America on student visas just a few months after they got pregnant. From India. Around 1971.

AUG 19 Education blogger Larry Miller writes here about the recent edition of the New Orleans Tribune which was dedicated to printing the truth about the Recovery School District. No whitewash, no manipulated data, no disingenuous public relations patter. Just a whole bunch of reality, presented by the community that the RSD's promoters claim to be helping.

AUG 19 The Red Shtick looks back to a few weeks before Katrina, when it published an article that turned out to be prophetic. The article was in the dead-tree version of the Shtick, in Baton Rouge news stands, when Katrina hit 10 years ago. Yikes.
Wednesday's Blogs from the Bog!
Wonkette is all over Bobby and his Confederate heritage play. Also today, how Newhouse plans to commemorate Katrina, and the Shtick looks back on a creepy coincidence.
